With regard to the Second Amendment, it is undeniable that some of the material facts of "weapons in America" and "how society works" have changed since 1791. The text is also poorly written. What we ought to do is to decide what the Constitution should say about guns, and then amend it accordingly. Instead, we've tried to amend it by stealth, because we don't have the maturity as a society to be confident in the amending process.
