SIM Free/SP Unlocked/Factory Unlocked iPhone 3G This model of iPhone 3G doesn’t have an Service Provider lock (aka factory unlocked) and you are able to put any SIM card into the phone and get service.

Where can you buy these? Iphone + anyone but ATT would be heaven.

Germany.

In some countries they have to sell the unlocked version by law (that is, paying full price of course).

I got mine from Italy.

Good excuse to go to Germany or Italy every 6 months :P

In the UK, at www.play.com

They're taking pre-orders for the 3GS at £999 for the 32GB version. Ouch.

is there any way to get one in the us? could someone provide me with a list of websites?

Just updated. Went really smoothly.

Where is the 3.0 ipsw download?

Just download it from iTunes when you autoupdate.

PwnageTool asks for the firm bundle.

If you've downloaded it through iTunes, PwnageTool will find it, and allow you to pick it.

    curl -s -L http://phobos.apple.com/version | grep Restore | grep '_3.'

Note the beginning of the filename:

    iPhone1,1_ = 2G

    iPhone1,2_ = 3G

    iPhone2,1_ = 3G S

worked for me, now i just need to install winterboard again
