If anyone has any follow-up questions, I'm happy to answer them.

Glad to see this is going well for you. I met you back in 2009 or 2010 I think when you first started doing this and I was doing Affect Labs (FestBuzz), which didn't really work out.

I'm now working on another UK startup (Satago) so might come your way for some grant advice soon.

Sure, please do get in touch! :-)

I love the communication style on GrantTree's website.

Do you know any similar services with a similar style in other countries? (i.e. Germany)

I don't, at the moment, unfortunately. If anyone here is running such a company and wants to let me know, I'd be happy to pass people their way, as we do regularly get this question...

Interestingly, the UK government has today made all company accounts free to access, which should help lots of other small businesses to understand how their business is performing versus their competitors

That's nice! Duedil has already offered these records for free, but it's nice to see the government catching up.

It will be interesting to see what Duedil and companies like CreditSafe do now... they'll have some competition on their hands.

swombat, Is any of the grant / tax credit data available in the public domain? It might be an interesting indicator to the growth of UK startups.

Duedil makes some of the underlying data free to access, but not the actual accounts documents themselves. They charge you to access these - now they will be freely available from Companies House

Great article, but aren't you supposed to be beering it up rather than f5'ing HN? :)

Champagne is coming out in about half an hour I think :-)

This is awesome. Chatted with you on IRC a couple of times before Swombat - thanks for the thoughtful advice and a willingness to help always.
