Oh look another page full of unicode placeholder symbols.

When did the web become a place that is hostile to people who want to choose the fonts they read things in?

What? Not sure what you mean. The fonts use unicode characters for the icons like any other icon font. Anything we could do to make it more friendly?

My point is just that icon fonts are fundamentally broken.

I think that might have been 1990 or 1991 but I am not sure about the exact date.
