Ask HN: Journalists, what do you want from story requests?

Hey HN, I'm planning a software product in the press space, and I'd like to know what you'd want from someone requesting that you write an article about their startup.

Here's what I've got from some brainstorming and asking around my personal network: - Startup name - Hi-res logo - Screenshots/photos of the product - Description of the product/service - History (founders' names, previous startups they've done, investors/accelerators if any) - Quid pro quo (money, free swag/product/service, etc)

Please let me know if I missed anything, or if there's anything on this list that you don't care about.

I'd love to hear from journalists, OR anyone who's had success generating PR for their startup.
