FreeBSD 9.2-RELEASE will be out when the Release Engineer sends a GPG-signed email to the freebsd-announce mailing list.

Tagging a tree in svn does not constitute a release. In particular, there have been many cases where a tag has been created and then adjusted due to last-minute fixes.

This is exactly why I wish HN had some way to "unvote" for the articles. Note this is not the same as down voting like you can already do in the comments.

Is there improved support for the BCM 4313 wireless adapter? When I tried FreeBSD 9.2 a couple of weeks ago wireless was a fail.

The ndisulator hasn't worked for me yet, and many unix-like systems also have issues with this device.

The bcmsmacs driver didn't work right for me, and neither did the Broadcom STA drivers from Broadcom.

Presently using the bcmwl driver in Lubuntu.

If working on laptops wasn't such a pain I'd swap out the card, but the last time I tore my netbook apart I ended up with some "extra" parts. LoL

Does anyone here use FreeBSD on their day-to-day system, and if so why? How's laptop support compared to modern Linux distros?
