Is this syntax part of ECMAScript 6? I.E. will it eventually be supported by all browsers?

If you want to use it now and get full browser support, you can use the TypeScript compiler, which will compile into ES3 or ES5 targets. It also supports ECMAScript 6's classes syntax.

It's pretty neat to use this tech now on production sites and not having to worry about browser support.

it is part of ES6 and should make it to V8 eventually. Soon, I hope!

Except the web is much more than V8.

So it is. Hence the ECMA6 mention.

Sure, the problem is getting it to the mobile devices out there.

Node.js is the keyword here, not the web.

For me the web is the only place I bother to use JavaScript.
