I have a corded electric one and it's quieter than a petrol model but probably not much. You still have to wear ear protection.

You'd make a lot more money by inventing the silent vacuumcleaner.

I don't think it would be that hard to invent. What's hard is making it silent and compact.

Well, a double walled enclosure with vacuum inbetween would seal out a lot. Plus you could market it as "the double vacuum". Profit!

The problem is the outflowing air. That's where the noise comes from.

Well, that's where "lots of corners in the airpipe design" comes in. That, plus what I said before are big points in making something big.
