Ask: Getting started on marketing

I read hacker news for more than a year now.

As a developer, it gave me a lot of inspiration and motivation into doing stuff. I've had several side-projects those last months, and learned tons of coding related stuff (and even a tiny bit of design).

But I am a bit tired of spending nights coding something that people are in the end not interested in.

So my question is : What are good ressources to start learning about marketing (digital or not)?

How do I get from developer to startup builder? How do I get traction, and make people interested in my ideas?

For once, I'd like to start hacking something else than my computer :).
