AdSense ads in a framed URL shortener... How is this a good thing? Stop framing content--it's that simple.

This is most likely against the AdSense TOS anyway--you're putting ads on someone else's content.

few points:

monetizing a tiny url service != monetizing twitter

is google adwords really a viable monetization strategy for startups?

Well Google adwords will get you from the point where you can start to make money until you are big enough to deal directly with the advertisers. That is not a small benefit.

An ad network is only as valuable as the CPMs it provides.

normally this should be against Google Adsense TOS, that don't allow ads to be posted on Iframes or Popups; unless they have an authorization from them.

I don't think, that's a good idea, how the ads can be targeted? Also how much traffic gonna you have to make earnings?

I don't see how this makes sense to anyone. People sending links can't make any significant money from this. Plus it pisses people off.

Monetizing is one thing but profitability is another. I monetized my blog by including adsense but my blog only earned me $20/mth.

HootSuite is cool but how much does it earn from their so-called monetization of Twitter is another? I will be interested to see HootSuite release some actual revenue numbers from ads.

I'm going to do a live interview with the founder of this company and ask about him what you guys say here. (Esp your point, jonknee)

AWESOME. Because, more than anything, I'd love to wrap ads around links that I send to friends and followers.

Ads on twitter will only make the service profitable if they are in-stream.
