Wonder what kind of CTR/conversion this ad is bringing!

It certainly grabbed my attention, though I'm not sure how much of it was because of seeing a name I recognized(Markus/Plentyoffish).

From my experience, the bland prose that begins with "Hi, my name is X and I'm .. from your town/neighborhood" is absolutely killer. It performed better for me than an expensive copy I paid an agency for.

Agree,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgusHV4vIT8 I used "Hi, I'm Josh" - I think it adds a personal touch. I'd think that "are you single?" is probably the best part about his ad though...

It's easy to take anything you already have knowledge that it is successful and then try to find elements you think are good. It's much harder to look at unknown things and say - this will be a hit.

Poor font choice. Try something less bold with less anti-aliasing.

But honest ads are always great.

If you've ever been to PlentyOfFish, you'd obviously realize that the font choice was intentional.

The font is intentional.

The holy wars begin...

...wwwwwhaaat?

for those of you who don't know, this markus guy makes $10 million a year of his little site by working 1 hour a day. http://www.inc.com/magazine/20090101/and-the-money-comes-rol...

I am going out on a limb here to point out sp3000 was kind enough to toot Markus's horn by creating an account just to let us know.

I realize I created an account just to point this out and I know it may seem strange but trust me on this one.
