Ask PG: startup parting with suits, can we still apply?

We are a startup with working products, success with critics, and moderate traction.

The tech people are more of early employees with lots of equity, we don't have money. We have issues with the suits of the company, should we just apply to YC as a new startup? ( the suits don't want YC, they think it will meddle with their management style)
