Why put the (sic) tag there? Should it have been "it's" which expands to "Google lets go it is Android head..."?

The lack of "of"?

You can let someone go without letting go of them.

That would be "Google let its Android head go". Maybe the title edit was by a Brit who prefers "their" (plural) over "its" (singular) for companies?
