Amazon is still committed to solving the wrong problem, which is "how do I run a lot of virtual machines", when the actual problem is "how do I deploy/scale/maintain complicated applications"
Amazon AWS is a low-level platform, not necessarily a full solution. They do solve the "right" problem, but not necessarily yours. Thats where Heroku and (the now obviously aquired) Scalarium come in.
