Are you sure? I think C23 brought so many enhancements it's a pity to ignore it.

C as a language has one job, and it is to not do this.

So you still code in K&R C, I reckon.

There is such a thing as legacy code. I don't know why they were writing K&R style definitions in what must have been the late nineties but they were. It was standard C after all.

Because in the 90s there where still UNIX systems out their using K&R. I worked on one of them back then.

It was a 16bit UNIX.
