This just strikes me as the equivalent of all the politically correct/"woke" language policing that we had to go through.

Both sides redefine terms because they think it will change people's thought processes and they can catching anyone not following the rules in a purity test.

It annoyed me when we forced to change name of master branch to main branch and this super intelligence bullshit annoys me as well. It's fucking stupid.

This is a loyalty test, just like the oversized Florsheim shoes. It's also a way to condition people to follow his orders. Do some nonsense now, you're more likely to run a violent takeover for him later.

He’s not an idiot. A major reason he keeps winning is people underestimate him, seeing only the clown makeup and not the calculating manipulator underneath.

All political systems have failure modes, and shallow populist demagoguery is one of the failure modes of Democracy. The US IMO is not a well-functioning democracy and hasn't been for a while.

The failure modes of autocracies are more obvious: bad kings, low information decision making, incompetent bureaucrats, and no way to remove them peacefully without waiting for them to die.

We live in an autocracy run by people so terrible at their jobs that despite holding all three branches of government, they're gonna lose the next election.

IMO we kind of lucked out. I shudder to think of what might have happened if Trump, Musk, and that whole crowd were reasonable people who could work together and take criticism.

Depends on what sort of intelligence you're talking about. Trump is a con man, and is very adept at manipulating certain types of people. Outside of that, though, he's clearly an idiot.

That said, from his position I’m absolutely certain it looks super-intelligent… come to think of it, I’m kind of surprised the shibboleth isn’t “mega-hyper-giga-plaid-intelligence”.
