I'd welcome a replacement of Reddit (13 year long user here) with comparable traction, now that they are closing RSS access and cornering old-reddit. Sad that few cared there.
Lemmy exists, is fe diverse compatible. But unfortunately apparently saturated with state actor propaganda. A missed opportunity imo.
Yes, missed one I agree. It's natural that social media attract political types, yet Reddit managed to stabulate them and have special interest groups of enthusiasts that avoided that, for example r/ollama or r/musictheory. That could work for Lemmy also, but activity is not near. They are in a chicken/egg situation about volume, maybe we need to start subscribing just out of faith.
