My point is that the US is responsible for its actions, and can’t excuse itself by claiming to be pushed around by anyone.

I assume you understand that you're not actually talking to the United States itself with this comment, so it seems like you're trying to assert some principle of collective guilt? I'd say that's an awful lot like the tripe that's used to try and justify the genocide in Gaza, whereby every Palestinian civilian is purportedly responsible for Hamas's rockets (etc). Or to justify the rockets themselves for that matter, whereby every Israeli is purportedly responsible for their government's atrocities.
