On that last note, they have been looking for an OEM partner for a long time, and as of the last couple years, were thinking of commissioning an ODM for a supported device. A massive spending of resources but a necessary one since far before that, but that became more pressing two years ago. An OEM partnership is far more favorable, and that is what has been struck with Motorola, who approached GrapheneOS for said partnership and not the other way around.
Alternatives to google pixels have been explored since the inception of the project. The only difference now is that an alternative is about to exist where one hasnt before. GrapheneOS was interested in paying an ODM directly before Motorola reached out. GrapheneOS has never been pixel-only for any other reason than limited options.
GrapheneOS has never suppressed criticism or brigaded on social media. What is often described as "criticism" is a thinly veiled excuse to attack the project. Real criticism has always been appreciated.
False. From some drama recently. Proof: https://ibb.co/6J0CyVz6

Perhaps warranted, but definitely the definition of brigading.
