No. The word "proponent" means you're in favor of the position, i.e. you think they're conscious. If you don't then you're not a proponent, and I wasn't talking about you. The word you're looking for might be "agnostic".
Blake Lemoine comes to mind, or Richard Dawkins [1] if you want someone with a weightier name.
