For quality of life considerations, affordability is the only thing that matters, which at any given loan interest rate means "how many months/years wages does it cost?"

If you got 20x, you're looking at nominal prices, not "how many years of income is this house worth".

So far as I can see, literally no house, anywhere, anywhen has gone from "n year of labour" to "20*n years of labour".
