Even if you pay, that doesn't change anything.

Implying that payment will stop the tracking is a red herring.

If you do have control over paying for it then you could conceivably stop and cancel it. I don't think they want to take that chance.

Most of these services do have paid subscriptions, but the connections are active regardless of whether or not you pay.

Ergo, you don't pay for the celular link.
