Oh, I really meant the latest trend of every AI agent having their own dot folder in root. I think Anthropic set off the trend with ~/.claude/ and I really wish everyone would stop now.
Yeah, meant the same thing, polluting user folder with invisible droppings is an ancient (and international, Windows is similar with Documents) pastime. There are some apps that respect XDG env vars instead of ~/.app
