Oh, don't be discouraged! Weekly or so I post stuff that disappears instantly and then days or weeks later posted by someone else ascends to the top of the front page. Just shrug and keep on truckin'!
Honestly I don’t care at all about internet points on here or Reddit EXCEPT that if you get too low or lose a lot quickly you aren’t visible in comments anymore, you keep being told you are “posting too fast” etc.

HN does have the "posting too fast" thing, maybe based on account age? But it's not like Reddit where you get shadowbanned for not having points.
