I never saw extraterrestrial technology or any indication of extraterrestrials existing, other than gag stuff in hangars.

All the aerospace technology I've ever worked with or heard of has a pretty clear (human) engineering lineage. None of the planes you've seen or heard of, or parts thereof, are based on extraterrestrial technology.
