Wouldn’t it actually be much more efficient to just destroy all the food infrastructure and just have everyone die from hunger instead of destroying all the houses?

You're right, it is, hence the strikes on World Central Kitchen and the blockade on food entering the area.

they send armed settlers for the farms. they can't destroy those
