For me (France), it's not October 7, it's the 9 previous months. From January 1st, French TV was showing about 1,000 rockets per month sent onto residential Israeli quarters. Sure beautiful pictures of the counter-missiles destroying them in flight, but I remember thinking:

"How long can Israel counter 30 rockets a day? What's the cost?"

"How is not each of them (7,000 in total) a war crime by Palestinians?"

"Sure it's not Palestinians it's Hamas, but the last time there was an election, they've elected Hamas, so what do you do?"

"Seriously, how is this not 7,000 counts of war crimes? Why is Israel not reacting? Why is Israel militiae into Gaza to catch the authors?"

Turns out the limit is 7,001 attacks.
