Europe is still going through the hangover from the last night's party - automobile industry, consumer appliances, heavy machinery, democracy, globalism, tourism, single market, EU policies and so on. They are yet to wake up to whatever happened over the past few decades. To be fair, Europe is not a single country or has strong central control like Anerica does.
