All ex-USSR subway escalators are much faster (hence better) than Western ones.

This is fun, because Soviet escalators were essentially copied from British escalators when the Moscow subway was constructed.

When you are not comparing them with the Western subways, they still seem slow to ride. And people walk or run down and up all the time.
