How do we measure quality of life?

Life expectancy? Infant mortality? Paid parental leave? Gun deaths? Incarceration rate? Income equality? Voter participation? Child poverty?

By any of these measures US falls far behind Europe

I mean the best way to measure QOL is to see which countries people want to migrate to. The hurdle to do so is high for most people, so they pay a significant cost to get their preference.

If you adjust for population size and limit just to high income countries, the US comes out on top.
