So did India until 1843 (legally) and, like the rest of the world, still has many people in forced labor and human trafficking in essentially slave relationships.

Even if there was something, like I said, its nothing different than what others had at that time. So this whole obsession about stratification in Indian society seen as something unique is baffling.
