I made this game to help me with media literacy. View it like Wordle but for fake news.

I would appreciate your honest feedback since I'm serious about making it way better.

Why did this immediately ask me for permission to show notifications? What notifications could come from this?

Ok I will remove this behavior. Thanks for the feedback

I like it, its a bit clunky on the desktop though. the real and fake took me a while to find on a big high rest screen.

I'd appreciate better formatting of the blind spot and "you got it wrong" results.

I feel like this is less about news and more about urban legends and old wives tales.

would be very interested in seeing this become more contemporary and up to date with more recent events.

Glad that you liked it. I took all your feedbacks in consideration and will update soon.

Maybe reading a book or two about media literacy might help you more? It’s a very well studied area. There is lots very basic things about identifying and analysing health claims that is in the public health sector too. Groups like the anti-rumour project also have good materials. https://ccre-cemr.org/impact-community-society/anti-rumours-...

Maybe look for a university that has their critical reasoning or introduction to academic writing courses online and look at the course readers.

All of this will help you more than tweak coding a flash card app with an llm.

Yes I agree. I'm actually searching the space. The current feed will be updated with actual live news and fakes data. Current state of product is mainly a prototype to get user feedbacks on the interface.

It just kept going and going and I was quite confused as to when it was going to give me any feedback, but I guess so was just getting them all right and there's no clear feedback in that case?

You had all correct answers. But I will update so you get the correct feedback.

None of the videos for the fake/real news examples work for me

Better ones will come soon. From live social media feeds.

I like the concept, but it needs more interesting content. I was actually confused for a few rounds.

As soon as I realized it's just a game of trivia and "spot the AI image/video", my scores improved dramatically. It's like a switch flipped in my brain and I stopped overthinking these.

It seems like that's the opposite of what you intended?

I'm doing a new update on the feed with live social media feeds (tiktok, x, insta, ...). I'll keep you updated

"oh I wonder if it will have an off-white background" guessing game when seeing anything posted

I'm trying to improve the colors. Do you have any suggestions ?

I have no idea who Vallas is and that's why I got that one wrong

I will add more context for this kind of uncertainty with a question mark button.

Fun game, but I agree with senectus1, it's a bit clunky on desktop

I'm updating the desktop app on that. Thanks for the feedback.

"No stories right now"

Server is down due to usage spikes and next update. Will be up soon.

You probably shouldn't have posted this 14 times - see https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html: "Please don't use HN primarily for promotion" and https://news.ycombinator.com/newsfaq.html: "a small number of reposts is ok" (14 is not a small number!) But let's not let that get in the way of a good submission.
