FTC Action Against MLM Operator Amway for Unfair and Deceptive Business Practice

Amway Corp., one of the largest multilevel marketing companies in the U.S., and two of its affiliates—World Wide Group, L.L.C. (WWG) and Leadership Team Development Inc. (LTD)—will pay $225 million to resolve allegations from the Federal Trade Commission and the state of Washington that the companies use unfair and deceptive tactics to recruit members to its direct selling and multilevel marketing opportunity.

So they'll pay a fine. They don't plan to stop being an MLM, which means they will continue to drain the wallets of the vast majority of their people, while pushing a lifestyle that's not achievable (nor even socially or ethically desirable).

If you doubt Amway's power, a key family member was the Secretary of Education! I don't suppose we'll start educating children that all MLMs are scams.
