Trump says it's time to rebrand AI with a new name

techcrunch.com

The diversion from matters of importance continues.

Whatever else the White House is good at, they are masters of making us look "over there" instead of answering the hard questions put to them by a decreasing pool of journalists.

Call it American Intelligent

Then you wouldn't have to change the initials and could claim it was that way the whole time :)

Now the heretofore well-understood descriptor "Artificial Intelligence" has been distilled from all of the world's experts for quite some time.

You can't expect terminology alone to turn things around completely, there's got to be some equivalence for it to be a meaningful rebrand.

In the Trump vocabulary I think the closest thing that comes to mind as AI for most people would be "Fake Intelligence", which is right on-brand the way he talks, and rolls off the tongue easier than the runner-up "Hoax Intelligence."

Like anything else, FI would be understood to be convenient shorthand, every time you see Trump's face associated with "intelligence" of any kind it would naturally imply the full formal name; "Fake Intelligence of America."

I might choose another 'I' word from the antonym side of the spectrum, as an American

Didn't Green Day write a song about that?

"American"? It'll be the Donald J.Trump Intelligent Computer.

> It'll be the Donald J.Trump Intelligent Computer.

Intelligent (or Intelligence) is both too long of a word and too highbrow; I'd say closer to the Donald J.Trump High IQ! Genius

Someone should explain to Trump what a ZFLOP is (https://epoch.ai/data/ai-chip-users-documentation/methodolog...) -- Turns out if you build ever more powerful clusters of GPU(s) you can do some pretty interesting things (Super? Hmmm, maybe, but super intelligence?)

Trump cant even send his own emails...

just stop and think of that.

How is it possible that out of the millions of Americans, a guy who cant even read or send his own emails managed to work his way to the top of political system.

>How is it possible that out of the millions of Americans, a guy who cant even read or send his own emails managed to work his way to the top of political system.

Because Americans don't vote for competence, they vote for entertainment value.

I had no idea lining up for hours to buy petrol was such an entertaining activity.

From the original social media post:

Many people think that the words “Artificial Intelligence” are inaccurate, and very ineloquent, relative to AI, or Artificial Intelligence. A far more elegant and accurate description of this new phenomena would be Superior Intelligence (SI) or, Extreme Intelligence (EI) or, Supreme Intelligence (SI). This is a Poll, and I would appreciate everybody voting! Which is the best name for this ever growing “Revolution?” President DONALD J. TRUMP

I vote extreme, but it should be XI instead EI for eXtreme.

I expect the XI agent to give us a master class in calculated sycophancy next week

> Many people think that the words “Artificial Intelligence” are inaccurate, and very ineloquent, relative to AI, or Artificial Intelligence.

Noted eloquence expert Donald Trump, there.

> President DONALD J. TRUMP

What's with the capitalisation? Is he secretly French?

TI, Trump Intelligence ?
