That's not a reason to censor it at the state level.

Why not?

Why is it? You don't get to censor important sources of information and then literally just cite "why not?" as the reason.

The linked wiki page lists the reasons. You can't just say these are not good reasons without saying why

Censorship is bad, also it is always slippery slope.

Additionally it is against Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the UN. And Article 20 of the Spanish Constitution.

This seems like sufficient justification not only to censor it at a state level, but to criminally prosecute any individual who visits the site after finding out about it - and thus knowingly joins in DDOS attacks.

I understand it to be a stand off between western special services on behalf of the media empires, and some random russian… criminals? their own intelligence or adjacent criminals? Just randos on a mission?

Russia doesn't produce content that anyone wants to pay for. So piracy is no economic loss for Putin. Secondly Russia's economy is going down the drain and the population definitely needs distraction from the war. Bread and circuses.

Russia exports a huge amount of content (from cartoons to AI), which is why it did not withdraw from copyright treaties in 2022, as Belarus did
