There's plenty blaming AI here, but IMHO the rot was already there long ago, and AI only accelerated it.

In 2014 they got rid of the bulk of QA. That's probably the biggest turning point.

Especially when the following years once again confirmed that none of the big enterprise customers care enough to cancel any contracts over QA problems.

This. We had Electron hell before AI. It's infuriating when you consider that we used to have access to so many easy to design native GUI solutions.
