You object to other people deciding how to spend their own money? In that case I object to how you’re spending your money. I now obligate you to donate $50 a month of your own money to GNOME. You can afford it, so you cannot object.
It is more damning that a company cannot afford $50, but you're not even getting paid for the free work for your time defending them.
If that is what you choose to do, that's fine, but for people working in OSS with companies depending on their work get nothing.
This is what is wrong with the world today.
Keep "fighting the good fight" for free I guess...
You are just upset about it because you’re not “right wing”. You wouldn’t complain at all if they supported a left–wing influence campaign. On the contrary, you would laud them for it!
And basically everything else you said was just sour grapes.
Huh? Yes, I am appalled by someone who literally compared brown people to wolves that should be shot for the protection of the "human" population, which is to mean, white people. That's an ideology that neither deserves respect nor equal protection under the law.
> It doesn’t even matter if Omarchy was some kind of sekret “right–wing influence campaign” as you say
I didn't claim it was "sekret." On the contrary, it's playing out in the open for everyone to see. Wealthy companies and individuals are pouring obscene amounts of money into a fund centered around someone's personal dotfiles with hotkeys for launching a bunch of commercial software. DHH claims to support other projects with that money, where most of the actual work is done, but projects that have any shred of conscience are avoiding their money like the plague. In effect, it's funding projects that don't have an issue with ethnic cleansing. Digital Ocean even withdrew funding from projects that didn't take DHH money, effectively punishing them for their stance. If something quacks like a duck, it's a duck. That fund is, for all intents and purposes, a right wing influence campaign.
I know you won't be changing your behavior over this, but despite your attempt at putting together a debate-me-bro response, you couldn't even resist the urge to resort to crude name-calling. And no, adding "useful" before "idiot" doesn't hide your petty emotions. It's embarrassing.
Nah, my reading comprehension is fine. If anything, you should go look up the definition for "compare" before you start grading other people.
> There’s nothing racist about it
If comparing people to wolves that should be killed based on their race isn't racist for you, what is?
> “brown” and “white” are words that you read into the text
No, it's very clear what DHH means. The Romanis (paraphrasing since DHH only referred to them by a slur) vs. the "native" Danish, the "native Brits" vs. the other 2/3 of the London population. DHH is discriminating based on skin color, that's an unambiguous fact.
> so that you could be angry
I'm not angry, just appalled at you and DHH's racism. I'm not the one angrily hurling crude insults and incoherent rants repeatedly.
