Removing dependency on SaaS has so far been my favorite use of AI. I hope we kill it off entirely. Software is better off as a tool. Making it a product typically ruins it.
Maybe there are cases where those constraints don't degrade utility to the point where your product is now worse than the best open source alternative, but they're few and far between.
