No one said people are property. Hong Kong people still enjoy disproportionally high quality of life compared to Mainland Chinese people. In fact, they are ranked #14 world wide in GDP PPP per capita.[0]

The biggest reason for this is because of China. Hong Kong acts as a financial hub for business between China and the outside world.

Can we stop pretending like Hong Kong people are oppressed?
