Very interesting change. I’ve yet to see CSS more than 20 levels deep. Good to put a stop to such insanity.

I wonder what made them attempt to support such deep nesting in the first place.

Always possible there’s some buggy CSS compiler in the wild that ships a crazy rule and nobody tested in Firefox.

"Smart Window" ?

Is Firefox trying to push away us remaining users ?

How else do they stay relevant when everything else has ai packed-in in some fashion? /s

I recently had to install Firefox and windows so I could throughly test something

Holy Hell is the praise for this product misplaced. Maybe if you installed it long enough ago it preserves your choices and hides the garbage?

It’s like modern website full of pop up ads and garbage. There’s like 10 different scammy things in your face you have to figure out how to hide or disable

I’d pick Edge, if I had to pick either, after this experience

Doesn't Edge have the same problem?

Probably. But my expectations for Firefox were much much higher, so the disappointment / surprise factor here is what’s so big for me, I guess

I also dislike the choices the product team of Firefox is doing. However, it is the only (afaik) major browser distro that has support for a proper adblocker, so I grind my teeth and remove homepage widgets and tab suggestions and weather forecasts.

Helium browser is Chromium based but still supports uBlock Origin (they haven't deprecated MV2 yet)

All the web platform changes are really cool:

---

> The CSS attr() function now supports values of any type, so authors can use attribute values in any property rather than only as strings in the content property.

> Firefox now supports the progress() CSS function.

> Firefox now supports the alpha() CSS function. This is a relative color function that can be used to modify just the alpha component of a given color.

> Firefox now supports the Promise.allKeyed and Promise.allSettledKeyed methods from the await dictionary proposal, which take an object of promises and resolve to an object of results with the same keys.

... And so on.

The best browser I love FF
