Well, parts of it are naturally a desert. But plenty of forest and wetlands too. In fact there were even more wetlands before we channelized many of the rivers.

A state with a diversity of environments. Southern California, dry and dusty. Northern California, green and vibrant.

California is a big state. The only true deserts are in the south east part of the state
This is not correct. LA gets its water from hundred of miles away. So does the Bay Area. So does the central valley.
