Ask HN: What's your career / life plan for the next few years?

I'm so burned out working in the insanity of the org that I'm supposedly a leader in that I'm considering leaving and I don't know what...

Maybe I'll buy some run down property and fix it up. Try to make some money consulting, build some games.

I already live below my means and have a decent amount of money saved up, but still feel like it isn't enough to just stop working.

Get enough capital to start a business. Scale the business. Attain financial independence. Help people in need. Die fulfilled.

Learn to play piano

On behalf of all pianists, welcome to the fold. The best advice I can give is to get a proper piano teacher for the first few lessons. If you’re in a college town, there might even be performance majors who’d be happy to teach on the cheap.

Even if you’re not going to stick with the teacher and prefer to learn in an autodidactic way, the beginning is the most important part since proper ergonomics, posture, and fingering really set you up for success in the future. It's hard to break bad habits once they've set in.
