The main obstacle for the opposition is itself.
The midterms are the first chance to get it back. Voting maters
but until then. Democracy has handed them all the power
1) Stop spreading powerlessness
2) Stop worrying about your own feeling of powerlessness
3) Get to work
Everyone facing a real challenge feels powerless and despair at times. 90% of the difference between success and failure is what you do next.
A lot of ‘if I can’t/won’t solve this problem, fuck you if you try to solve this problem’ going on, especially on the left.

That behavior is the cause. The question must be answered, and if you haven't answered it after 8 (since 2016) or 26 (since 2000) or more years, you aren't trying.
How does the Republican party do these things without losing votes? The likely causes seem obvious to me, but the real problem is that people who oppose them need to believe again that they can do anything, that they are responsible, that they won't be stopped, and stop accepting helplessness.
Well, a lot of them didn't vote for him. Roughly a third of eligible voters stayed home (actually the largest group) while Trump and Harris each got a bit under a third, with Trump narrowly ahead.
But yeah, I guess its still baffling about 31% voted for him.
