I agree he did not win the popular vote in 2016 or 2020.
(I'm not sure what reflection that is on "democracy" in 2016, but hey.)
However he did win the popular vote in 2024. Meaning that people took a look at his first term, took a look at the Binden years, and thought to themselves "hey, I prefer the first guy". (Or perhaps althernativly, "no way I'm voting for a woman"),
I guess this is democracy in action right? Optimizing for popularity over quality.
