If it was William Gibson everyone would be wearing black jeans, hardly ever use a computer, going on adventures all around the city and talking to members of the opposite sex. For sure that's not where we are.
Talking to members of the opposite sex only? How narrow-minded. Cyberpunk/sci-fi often explores futures where sex/gender is less of an issue (especially Ian. Banks' works). Clearly we're not there yet.
