Apple Wants to Charge Developers Up to 15% for Linking Outside the App Store

I have been calling for the roughly same rate reduction since 2014, apart from the small business programme because 5% would essentially be free once you factor in fraud protection and credit card charging fees etc.

In hindsight, it is great that they milk it for an additional 12 years. But the part I still don't understand is their insistence to not break out Games into its own Game Store. Gaming represent ~80% of the App Store Revenue. They could have kept it at 30%. While lowering the rest to more reasonable trucks as suggested here.

Instead they keep dragging it on and make the pricing structure extremely complicated with different "program".

This fee occurs when developers use another payment provider. So the 5% does not cover payment processing. You still pay the fees to your payment processor, then you pay 5% on top of that to Apple for essentially no reason.
