Not sure if this is some kind of Baader-Meinhof phenomenon or if OP just also did the NYT crossword this morning.

Because Ceuta has been all over the news, Morocco's other weird border is getting attention.

Ceuta is really Spains weird border... its just Morrocan city with a spanish fence around it.....

It also showed up in the discourse thanks to Christopher Nolan controversially filming parts of The Odyssey there.

And related to what happened in Ceuta recently. Oh, I forgot about that, but had seen that in the news as well.

It’s kind of weird that this area that I was only aware of because I like studying maps has popped up a whole bunch in the last few weeks.

Baader-Meinhof? how so? (and yes, I know they were the first generation of the Red Army Faction)

Thank you! I ran into this a ton in college, and still do sometimes with new (to me) authors. I was confident about what was happening, but it's nice to know it's a documented phenomenon.
