If only the ability to work with a Spectrum Access System provider didn't get horribly gimped because Google Cloud decided to exit the SAS market.

No other SAS providers are even willing to take my small business. I have to shut down all of my CBRS because of Google. An entire investment in loads of private LTE gear is now essentially useless because the rest of the SAS partners are "too large" (Federated Wireless, Nokia, "RED Technologies", and Sony will not give me the time of day).

Can you even deploy private LTE/5G now if you're a little guy, or are you now going to be forced to go pay a large deployer again that has the keys to SAS?

First it was an endless fight to get access to SIM provisioning and an eSIM provider that was willing to let me provision SIMs for myself, now I can't even get permission to run them on the air.

Why exactly is (private) cellular 5G apparently "better" than Wifi (at least for some use-cases)? Is it the frequencies used? The encoding? Something higher up in the stack (like authentication or better hand-offs or cell overlap)?

Licensing by the FCC as to the amount of power allowed, which makes it work for more people over a wider area than 802.11 wifi.

I would think that private 5G cellular would also be power-limited so as to not disrupt public cellular, so you'd have to set up multiple cells just like you have to setup multiple APs.

Yes it totally just becomes a numbers game.

Setup W 5-g hotspots for $X dollars vs setting up Y 802.11 hotspots for $Z dollars.
