is a tiny native macOS menu-bar app for local SSH port forwards. It has no external dependencies and runs natively.

Nice! This warms my heart — I used to make a Mac GUI app for SSH tunnel management back in the day.

Very cool!

RelayBar 1.2.0 launched Remote Files preview

Added Safe read-only previews for supported remote images and Markdown, including GFM, common Obsidian reading syntax, syntax highlighting, footnotes, callouts, and native math.

Nice idea. I deal with port forwarding daily and this looks super handy. Any plans to add connection grouping or folders for those of us juggling dozens of environments?

Yes, will add grouping!

Grouping is available now https://github.com/lx2026/RelayBar/releases/download/v1.2.0-...

Nice idea!

I rebuild it for linux https://github.com/skorotkiewicz/RelayBar

Awesome!

I’m also adding support for viewing remote images and markdown files - paste an absolute path directly into the menu bar to view them

I couldn't help noticing on the screenshot that user having direct access to a production database from their laptop :)

production database with localhost:5432 in the menu bar :)

Looks great! I tend to use autossh as I have a need for these a lot with work and I have unstable internet!

Wouldn't mosh be more convenient? https://mosh.org/

Doesn’t mosh require a server component? I don’t have the ability to control that part…

Thanks!

Super handy work!

thanks!
