Ask HN: What is the right reading/coding ratio for learning purposes?
I'm pretty much in the start of my career. I still have a lot to learn. But every time I have some free time I ask myself: should I do some progress on my reading (I have 3-4 books on my reading list that I really want to master as soon as possible), or should I do some progress on my side projects, which are really meant for learning purposes?
I'm really having a hard time deciding how to divide my time. How much time should I spend on passive reading (some of these reading are pretty theoretical) and how much time should I spend on actually coding?
I'd love to hear your takes on this...
